Facilitate was designed to cut out the bloat from inflated commerce using the sharp power of the open market

It all starts with demand. A homeowner needs a new roof on their home. To get from here to mission accomplished, a simplified list of requisite resources are as follows;

  • Materials
  • Project Management
  • Labor

“Connecting homeowners to materials, labor and project management resources is a straight line to an efficient and plentiful marketplace.”

Materials

The homeowner logs on to Facilitate, creates their roof project by address and can quickly get an estimate for the replacement of their roof using Facilitate’s QuickMeasure tool. In the process, the homeowner will select a set of shingle options, to include brand and color, so Facilitate QuickMeasure can price against it.

Project Management

Next, the homeowner will select a local and experienced project manager to assist in the material procurement and project oversight of the roof replacement. Most roofing companies delegate this role to their sales representatives who assist the homeowner in selecting the right products for their roof. Facilitate is not a roofing company, but a platform designed to facilitate the resources needed for your roof project and it is our experience that a third party project manager is the most transparent way to go. The project manager will review the measurements of the roof and the materials chosen by the homeowner and ensure quantities and proper type are chosen. The materials are then purchased through Facilitate and added to the cart.

Roofing as a trade has it’s best practices and Facilitate provides a process to execute these practices that the project manager will both follow and oversee with the crew.

Labor

Last, the homeowner will browse roofing companies and even roofing crews that work for roofing companies to execute the labor. Facilitate requires that any and all companies and crews provide general liability insurance with an aggregate coverage limit of 2 million dollars and one million per occurrence. Crews with policies offering more than 2 million will identify this in their profile for homeowners requiring more than standard. Our platform allows a homeowner to review a crew’s profile description, ratings and message them for more information. It is always encouraged to communicate as much as possible, to include asking for referrals, so that you have assurance going forward with your project. The homeowner selects their crew and adds them to the cart.

Scheduling

Once all resources are selected and the price is accepted, the homeowner can execute the agreement and schedule their project. Using our calendar, the days available for all parties selected will be visible as available. A day is selected for installation with the materials being delivered the day before. Facilitate, as a system, will set reminders to all parties, to include the homeowner, for confirmation of the project the day before the installation. This ensures a good night’s sleep knowing all parties are plugged in and ready.

    I must say, I’ve never tried replacing my own roof as a contractor.

    This article was very informative and quite helpful as I am at this moment, trying to deal with hail damage.

    It looks like it’s not as hard as I thought it would be!
